'Depot' Cardiff is possibly the most popular live music event venue in Wales. In this 3,000m2 warehouse, rooted in the 1970's, the plan was to expand the business

This store like many of this age share the same problems. The building regulations regarding insulation requirements are outdated and ineffective. 

Cabotte is regarded by many as one of the premier French restaurants in London, serving the City. Close conversations were challenging due to the nature of the acoustics.

Pharmaceutical laboratory in Hoddesdon.

Our client had 2 brand new and fit out office Head Quarters in the East End and Sussex. 

Black Hangar Studios is a “one-stop shop” film and television studio, nestled in the Hampshire Countryside. Just 45 minutes from West London and Heathrow Airport, Black Hangar is conveniently located within Lasham Airfield.

New semi commercial in central Cardiff. Ground floor bar conversion from shop. Airborne noise and music to be carried upwards into domestic dwellings.

The Authority have a considerable number of metal roof problems in their portfolio. These are historically inherited from the 40 s and 50 s and have been renovated at various stages. 

The workshop at this huge distribution centre is highly exposed in Bathgate. Operatives work long hours in an older building environment. The structure needed improvement on a major scale.

6 units in a stunning but very exposed area of Gwynedd. The owners wanted a high performance thermal eco friendly insulation with Green credentials. Also they wanted to protect the rooms from storm and gale damage.

New high end development in West London. Problem caused in stairwells and stud walls were standard procedure has failed to achieve necessary DB ratings.

Pump noise was resonating through flat and downstairs into neighbours creating problems for both.

Noise created by dogs was loud and leaking badly into surrounding residential neighbourhood causing problems for owners.

Dulwich Hamlet FC had an excellent venue space that unfortunately had metal profile.

We were called in to advise and investigate noise pollution in confidential meeting rooms.

Kias new flagship showroom off the elevated M4 at Brentford. For Paragon the main contractor.

Meeting rooms used for highly confidential discussions were fitted out by interior designers without any consideration for acoustics. Therefore even though they looked ok aesthetically there was considerable leakage.

Interior dividing walls not had acoustic/ thermal insulation for laboratories.

Gearbox testing room that was built into modern fit out box room. Reverberation and echo when testing was difficult even with ear protection.

New continental gastropub. Entertainments/comedy venue with noise emanating from venue to residential area surrounding.

Multiply had taken a Victorian single brick building on for their HQ in Sciennes. Unfortunately the cold and inefficiency of heating the building was a huge issue.

Small storage room is housing a large server that is on wheels. The noise is emitting into open plan office of 20 employees.

The Solution

Build a room within a room with independent surfaces and isolated flooring. Increase density of door and install seals. Subsequent sound test and airborne noise conclusively prove 50% reduction and in excess of expectations.

This magnificent Grade 2 listed building had major wooden peg fatigue and leaks in roof. Because of its listing and age the owner was very reluctant and unable to afford stripping and replacing the roof like for like.

Premier conference and study venue in Marylebone at the epicentre of Euston connection hub. 5 doors in main area were leaking out noise during events and transferring into other areas.

Metropolitan worked with Recyclan to design an insulation solution that would contain heat during extreme cold during winter and extreme heat during summer at their recycling plant in Deeside.
