We’ve been in the insulation game a long time — over 30 years, in fact — and during that time, Metropolitan Insulation has helped all sorts of businesses deal with the noise and heat issues that come with busy, complex spaces. Some jobs have been big, others small, but they’ve all had one thing in common: they needed a solution that actually worked. That’s where we come in.
Whether it’s an echoing school hall, a draughty office, or a pub that’s keeping the neighbours up, we’ve been there. We’ve worked in car showrooms, head offices, recording studios, restaurants, even skate parks. Every project brings its own quirks, and that’s part of the job — finding the right fix, not just selling a standard product.
We’ve worked with some well-known names over the years — BBC, H&M, Berkeley Homes, KIA, Cemex, the Royal Academy of Music, and the Ministry of Defence, to name a few. But just as often, it’s smaller venues or companies that reach out with problems that need sorting quickly and properly.
Take Dulwich Hamlet Football Club — they had real problems with sound bouncing around the stadium and annoying the neighbours. We came in, had a proper look, and put a solution in place that made a big difference. Or Liverpool Victoria — they needed to keep meeting room conversations private, so we helped them cut down on sound transfer between rooms. And at MOD Brize Norton, we helped transform massive hangars into more practical lab spaces by sorting out thermal and acoustic insulation in the dividing walls.
Some projects are more about the impact on the surrounding area. The New Continental pub, for example, was causing a bit of noise spill into nearby homes. Not ideal. We helped them keep the atmosphere inside without it leaking out and upsetting the neighbours — everyone happy.
Then there’s the industrial side. Cemex had issues with heat and condensation in their concrete silos. We used closed-cell spray foam and a tough rubberised coating to get things under control. Problem solved, and working conditions improved.
We don’t just sell stuff. We listen, we ask the right questions, and we give advice based on experience — not guesswork. If you’re not sure what you need, no problem. We’ll walk you through it, explain what your options are, and help you figure out what makes the most sense for your building and your budget.
